Facts:

• Born about 1880 in Bagheria, Sicily, daughter of of Silvestre DiFiore (1835) and Cristina Scaduto (1842).

• 1902- Rosa DiFiore (22) sailed from Palermo, Italy, accompanied by her parents on May 27, 1902, aboard the SS Trojan Prince; arriving at the port of New York on June 14, 1902 with the intention of joining her brother, Cosimo at 246 Elizabeth St.

• 1909- Rosa DiFiore (24) married Giovanni Colombo (35), a teacher born in Italy, on September 12, 1909 at St. Anthony's in Manhattan. It was the first marriage for both.

• Children-

• 1917- died December 31, 1917 in New York City. She died at a "New York skin clinic" apparently due to pemphigus, a rare unpleasant skin disease with water blisters from which she suffered for 4 months. She had been in treatment since November 30, 1917. She is buried at the Calvary Cemetery near her parents.

The DiFiore Family has a rich history with its origins in Bagheria, Palmero Province, Sicily, Italy.  We are the descendants of the first generation of DiFiores born in the United States, the descendants of Matteo and Maria Riggio  (1700s).
