Facts:

• Born 1864 in Bagheria, Sicily, son of of Silvestre DiFiore (1835) and Cristina Scaduto (1842).

• Nickname- su Piddu, as result he was often called Peter

• Prior to 1895, married Anna Puleo

• Children: born in Bagheria, Sicily

• 1901- Giuseppe first traveled to America, sailing out of Palermo aboard SS Sempione on June 21, 1900. He arrived with $12.00 and he listed his brother Andrea who was already in New York City. He would return to Italy before 1904.

• 1905- Giuseppe, 36, traveled again to America. His profession was shoemaker, he could not read or write and traveled without his family and listed his brother Giacomo who was already in New York City.

• 1911- Giuseppe would bring his wife and children to America, sailing out of Palermo on May 18, 1911 aboard SS D'Italia, arriving in New York Ellis Island on June 1, 1911. His wife, Anna Puleo, and their children Cristina DiFiore, 16; Lucia DiFiore, 10; Mildred, 7 and Giuseppe, 5.

• 1920 Census: Lucy, 18, a typist; Mildred, 15; Josephine, 13; resided with their parents at 37 King St.

• Vincent DiFiore recalls that Giuseppe was a shoemaker and that he played the clarinet in the John Philip Sousa's band. Other sources report Giuseppe may have been a baker. Vincent also recalled that Lucy would tease him as a child constantly.
